Associate professor
Damien Le Nihouannen
In 2001, with a Master’s degree in cell biology and physiology, he decided to pursue a Master’s degree in oral and osteoarticular biology, biomaterials and biofunctionality from the University of Paris V/VII. He continued with Ph.D. under the direction of Dr. Guy Daculsi and Pierre Layrolle whose subject was “multiphase materials for bone tissue engineering”. With an experience primarily focused on the biological properties, in vitro and in vivo, of calcium-phosphate biomaterials, he decided to broaden his knowledge and skills by joining the laboratories of Drs. Jake E. Barralet and Svetlana V. Komarova at McGill University in Montreal for a postdoctoral fellowship focused on the biology of bone resorption. At the end of 2010, he returned to France, joining the University of Bordeaux Segalen and the INSERM U1026 BioTis “Tissue Bioengineering” laboratory as a University Lecturer.
